 Australia Day Celebrations

In the Snowy Valleys Council, Australia Day events will take place on Friday 26 January at the following locations and times:

Tumbarumba Region celebrations commence at 11am at the Tumbarumba Library with entertainment from the Tumbarumba Pipes and Drums Band.

The Australia Day awards will be presented from 11:30am followed by the cutting of the cake and a barbeque lunch provided by the Tumbarumba Rotary Club.

The Tumut Region celebrations for Australia Day take place in Stockwell Gardens, Richmond Street Tumut.

The event will begin at 8am with a BBQ breakfast provided by Rotary Club of Tumut and entertainment from the Tumut Town Band and the Sing Australia Choir. The official program will begin at 9am.

Australia Day celebrations in Batlow are hosted by the Rotary Club of Batlow and held at Memorial Park (behind the Bowling Club) with a hearty Australian breakfast from 8am.

Adelong celebrations are hosted by the Tumut Region Australia Day Working Group and the Adelong S&C Club and will commence at 11:30am with an Australian inspired morning tea.  The official program commences at 12 noon.

Talbingo residents and visitors are invited to Miles Franklin Park with activities beginning at 4pm and a barbeque dinner from 5pm. Official proceedings will commence at 6pm. The Talbingo Australia Day function is hosted by the Tumut Region Australia Day Working Group and the Talbingo Australia Day Committee.

Many community groups are represented at the celebrations, providing a chance for new residents to learn about ways to get involved in the community and to make new connections.
