A new bin tipper machine is being trialed at the Adelong and Talbingo Waste Transfer Stations over the Christmas period to make it easier for residents tipping wheelie bins into larger bulky waste skip bins.

A fantastic initiative, the wheelie bin tipper makes it easier and safer to empty full wheelie bins into the skips.

The lifter will be in Adelong until January 2nd and then will be moved to the Talbingo waste transfer station for a week’s trial.

“The idea to trial the tippers was suggested by a local resident, and we’re pleased to be able to put that idea into action,” said Council’s Acting Director Assets and Infrastructure Heinz Kausche. “If the trials are successful, and we believe they will be, Council will look to purchase a machine for each town”.

A manually operated wheelie bin tipper eliminates all lifting from the process of emptying wheelie bins into larger dumper bins using hydraulic gas struts and lifting up to 30kg at a time.
