Council Seeks Tender for Multiple Building Design and Constructs

Snowy Valleys Council is seeking tenders for the design and construction of multiple buildings to be installed at a range of locations across the region.
The projects include a combined residence and office at the Tumbarumba Caravan Park, new amenities buildings at the Tumbarumba Showgrounds, the Adelong Caravan Park and the Tumut Pool, and a new office building, amenities building and camp kitchen at the Batlow Caravan Park.
The tender is separated into five packages of work enabling tenderers to submit offers for any or all of the packages.
Council’s Acting Director of Assets and Infrastructure Heinz Kausche said the opportunity to combine all the projects under one tender will enable these assets to be built quickly, efficiently, and economically.
"This is a positive milestone for these major projects and demonstrates real progress towards making these projects a reality,” Mr Kausche said.
The new amenities building at the Tumbarumba Showground will include change rooms, storerooms, a first-aid room and externally accessed toilets.
As part of the Batlow Caravan Park Upgrade project the park will receive a new office building with serving counter and workstation desks; a new amenities building with toilets, showers and a laundry; and a camp kitchen incorporating an electric BBQ, sinks, food prep benches and an external eating area.
The Adelong Caravan Park’s new amenities block will comprise toilets, showers and laundry facilities.
New amenities at the Tumut Pool will include an office and canteen as well as toilets, showers and change rooms.
The new residence/office building for the Tumbarumba Caravan Park will include dining/lounge, kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms and a staff room as well as an externally accessible office.
Mr Kausche said the target date for completion of these projects is 15 December 2019.
“Tender applications close on the 9th of August and we should be in a position to award the tender in late August”.
The final designs will be submitted for Council approval prior to the commencement of on-site activities.
Council received over $4 million from the NSW Government to fund upgrades at the Batlow Caravan Park, the Adelong Caravan Park, Tumbarumba Showgrounds, the Tumbarumba Caravan Park and the Tumut Pool.
