Snowy Valleys’ Councillors will be travelling throughout the region this Spring sharing their experiences after 12 months in office and providing first hand updates on progress with projects and future plans for the region.

The Councillor Spring Roadshow kicks off this long weekend, with an information stall at the Adelong Markets on Saturday 29 September, then appearances at the Khancoban Markets and the Talbingo Markets on Sunday 30 September.

Mayor Cr James Hayes said the roadshow was an opportunity to catch up with locals in a relaxed setting and share Council’s achievement over the last 12 months.

“We have an ongoing commitment to being visible in the community and we’d like to share our experiences from our first twelve months in office with the locals and chat about how we can continue to work with them to help their communities to flourish,” Clr Hayes said.

Market goers are encouraged to visit the Snowy Valleys Council marquee and have a chat with their local council members.

“We’ll have updates on major projects, details on new ways to stay in touch with Council and information about an exciting initiative coming up that we’d like the community to be involved in”, Cr Hayes said.

Unlike Council public meetings that are often structured around a specific theme or project the roadshow will allow the public to connect with Councillors in a more casual environment.

“We held our first public roadshow back in March and April this year and we were encouraged by the number of people who took the time to stop by and have a chat”, Cr Hayes said.  “This time around we’re looking forward to re-connecting as we work to build and support the Snowy Valleys’ communities.”
