Key decisions from Council Meeting

At their July Ordinary Council meeting Councillors made the following key decisions:

  • Appointed National Audits Group as Council’s Internal Audit Provider for a period of two (2) years
  • Agreed to fund the construction of footpaths near the Tumut High School on Herbert Street and Bogong Street.
  • Agreed to consider allocating $45,000 towards the Mannus Lake Blue-Green Algae project for development of a site assessment and conceptual design
  • Acknowledged their ongoing support for continued focus on attracting accommodation investment and developing cycling tourism in the region and agreed to contribute an initial $5,000 to the Upper Murray 2030 program.
  • Endorsed the public exhibition of the Draft Snowy Valleys Development Control Plan
  • Supported the development of a Reconciliation Action Plan in consultation with the Aboriginal Liaison Committee and any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees of Snowy Valleys Council.
  • Requested a report on the Aerodrome Committee’s recommendations regarding upgrades to the Tumut Aerodrome
  • Gave permission for the Tumut Youth Council to commission an artist mural on the external wall of the Boys Club Hall.
