Enthusiastic swimmers can now apply for their after-hour access cards with Tumut and Adelong pools opening for card holders from Saturday 6 October 2018.

Council’s Director of Assets & Infrastructure Matthew Christensen has confirmed the two pools will be ready for swimming in early October.

“We’re extending the after-hours card season at Tumut and Adelong with earlier season opening dates based on the feedback we heard during our pool community consultation earlier this year”, Mr Christensen said.

The Batlow pool will open for card holders on Saturday 3 November 2018.

Keen swimmers can purchase an after-hours access cards for a one-off season fee of $25 each for use at the Tumut, Adelong and Batlow pools.

Adults wishing to apply for an after-hours access card can download the After-Hours-User-Agreement-Form from Council’s website or pick one up from Council’s Tumut office.  Conditions apply.

Council is also waiving general pool entry fees for the 2018-19 swimming season as part of a continuing trial aimed at increasing social cohesion and active lifestyles.

Mayor Cr James Hayes said Council was pleased to be offering the free entry again for a second year and hopes that the Snowy Valleys’ communities will take advantage of the opportunity.

“Pools are an important lifestyle asset for our Council and we want to ensure they are accessible to all members of the community to enjoy”, Cr Hayes said.

General access to all pools including Tumbarumba and Khancoban will be staggered from mid October to mid November 2018 depending on the location.
