Snowy Hydro has partnered with Snowy Valleys Council to increase the grants program supporting local activities and initiatives including community development, arts, culture and events, sport, recreation, and tourism.

Snowy Hydro confirmed last week that they have committed $20,000 per annum to boost Council’s grant program across the SVC region.

Paul Broad, Snowy Hydro's Chief Executive Officer, said that providing $20,000 to the Snowy Valleys Council grants program was a great way to support community groups and local activities across the region.

"For almost 70 years Snowy Hydro has been a proud member and supporter of the Snowy Mountains community and sponsorships are one of the ways we give back to the local region," Mr Broad said.

"Local community groups and volunteer-based, not-for-profit organisations do amazing work. Snowy Hydro's contribution to the grants program means there is now more money available to support the great contributions of these groups."

Council’s Director Strategy, Community and Development Gus Cox said having Snowy Hydro on-board reinforces Snowy Hydro’s strong commitment to the community as corporate citizens, similar to the existing Council partnerships with Hyne Community Trust and Tumbarumba Bendigo Bank.
