Snowy Valleys Australia Day Award Nominations

Nominations have now closed for the 2023 Snowy Valleys Australia Day Awards

Each year Snowy Valleys Council and the Australia Day Council of NSW invite nominations for the region's Snowy Valleys Australia Day Awards to recognise and celebrate the achievements and contribution of locals who go above and beyond for their communities. 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Individuals must be Australian citizens who live within the Snowy Valleys region.
  • Community groups or organisations must be based locally and primarily support the Snowy Valleys community.
  • Groups and individuals are not eligible for nomination if they:
    • have previously received the major award in the category nominated, unless a higher level of achievement has occurred
    • are a sitting state or federal politician, current vice-regal officer or was an Elected Member of Council before the merger
    • a member of the Snowy Valleys Council Australia Day Committee

Selection Criteria

The selection panel will assess your nominee in relation to

  • Demonstrated excellence in their field
  • Contribution to their community
  • Being an inspirational role model
  • Higher achievements if previously a major award winner
