Adelong Main Street Façade Improvements Grant
Application deadline extended to 4.30pm on Friday 31 May 2019.
Owners of commercial buildings in Adelong are being invited to apply for up to $10,000 in funding to assist with improving the street appeal of their properties located in Tumut Street, Adelong.
Snowy Valleys Council has received $100,000 in funding, through the NSW Stronger Communities Fund Round 2 (SCF2) in a one-off funding program for the Adelong Main Street Façade initiative.
The aim of the program is to provide seed funding to encourage the improvement of the commercial building façades along Tumut Street, Adelong. It is hoped that this one-off funding opportunity will engender greater interest for façade improvements along Tumut Street in Adelong.
Applicants are able to apply for up to $10,000 for their individual project. Owners of commercial buildings are invited to apply. Lessee retailers are also invited to apply (with permission obtained, in writing, from the Lessor).
Council is also giving those property owners the opportunity to contribute to the façade upgrade of their individual property if the amount allocated from the Funding does not fully cover the scope of works the property owner would like to undertake.
The funding guidelines outline the approved uses of the fund as:
- For commercial properties only
- Painting, signwriting, repair and clean-up of facades
- The requirement to use an approved colour palette for any exterior painting (Council has worked with its Heritage Advisor to confirm the palette).
Individual property owners will be responsible for the delivery of their project. A Council officer will be appointed to oversee the projects.
Level of funding available
There is $100,000 available in a one-off funding program for the Adelong Main Street Façade Improvement initiative. Applicants are able to apply for up to $10,000 for their individual project. Property owners and Lessee retailers may wish to contribute additional funds to the project.
Timing of projects
Projects must be completed by 14 December 2019.

- Background Research
It would assist your case if you can properly demonstrate why the work you propose would provide an upgrade to your current façade;
- Proposed Work
Detail what work you want to carry out. This should be written in a clear, item by item job schedule.
You will need to obtain at least 2 written quotes for the required work. Put these costs alongside the schedule of works that you have prepared.
- Plans and Sketches
Depending on the size of your project you may need to attach to your application.
Photographs/images will need to be supplied addressing the specific application. (by way of “before” photos/images).
