SVC Recovery Sub-Committees

The SVC Recovery Sub-Committees support the Snowy Valleys Council Recovery Committee and are focused around key areas identified as being important priorities for Bushfire recovery and the longer term recovery and growth of the region..

Each recovery sub-committee is chaired by Councillors and includes a representative from the Snowy Valleys Council Recovery Committee as well as subject matter experts from across the region.

A Community Advisory Group supports the recovery sub-committees by feeding back community concerns and issues that require broader attention. Residents are encouraged to contact their town's Community Advisory Group member to raise issues and concerns for action.

SVC Recovery Sub-Committee - Community Advisory Group

A Community Advisory Group has been set up to support the recovery sub-committees and provide feedback directly related to community concerns and issues from across the region.

SVC Recovery Sub-Committee – Health, Wellbeing and Education

The role of the health, wellbeing and education sub-committee is to lead and coordinate the planning and implementation of the social aspects of recovery including in safety and wellbeing, physical and psychological health, immediate and long-term shelter, social engagement and education.

SVC Recovery Sub-Committee - Infrastructure, Waste and Environment

The role of the Infrastructure, Waste and Environment Sub-committee is to lead and coordinate the planning and implementation of the built environment and lead and coordinate the planning and implementation of the environmental recovery in terms of the ecosystem components of air, water, land and soil and plants and animals.

SVC Recovery Sub-Committee - Forest Industries

The Forest Industries sub-committee is responsible for providing specialist support and advice on key issues confronting industry and the community reliance.

SVC Recovery Sub-Committee - Agriculture, Livestock and Horticulture

The Agriculture, Livestock and Horticulture sub-committee is responsible for providing specialist support and advice on key issues confronting primary industries and rural community.

SVC Recovery Sub-Committee - Business and Tourism

The role of the Business and Tourism sub-committee is to lead and coordinate the planning and implementation of the community's economic recovery.

SVC Recovery Sub-Committee - Communications and Community Engagement

The role of the Communications and Community Engagement sub-committee is to ensure timely, accurate and consistent recovery information is disseminated by all agencies

SVC Recovery Sub-Committee - Donations and Disaster Relief

The role of the Donations and Disaster Relief sub-committee is to identify developing welfare needs due to the fire event and support ongoing welfare needs of the community.

SVC Recovery Sub-Committee - Council Business as Usual

Council’s operations are also impacted through resources redirected to support the Rural Fire Service Operations, the Emergency Operations Centre and Recovery activities. While juggling varied roles Council needs to re-establish priorities in our business operations to return as close as possible to business as usual being mindful of the change in the business environment and community needs.
