SVC Recovery Sub-Committee - Communications and Community Engagement

Overview

The role of the Communications and Community Engagement sub-committee is to provide specialised support and advice to the Snowy Valleys Council Recovery Committee to ensure timely, accurate and consistent recovery information is disseminated by all agencies. 

The Communications and Community Engagement sub-committee will:

  • Ensure timely, accurate and consistent recovery information is disseminated by all agencies through a coordinated approach.
  • Provide timely and relevant information to the communities to support recovery measures and activities and address any concerns raised by community members.
  • Ensure that communication channels are analysed at all levels to address communication matters for future disasters.
  • Support community led and implemented recovery initiatives and build community resilience to future disasters.
  • Report regularly to the Recovery Committee.
  • Make recommendations to the Recovery Committee.
