Council is proud to be a major supporter of this local event.

Holiday Lights at Adelong Falls is a celebration of community, the holidays and the beautiful landscape of the area. Over two nights in December the historic gold mill ruins will be lit up by video projection artist Scott Baker and his team using large video projectors and lights.

It will be a celebration for the community, projecting artworks from local school children, paintings from local artists and archival photographs provided from the local historical society - a great opportunity to bring everyone together before the holidays.

Friday 16 December will see an opening ceremony at 7.30pm with a Welcome to Country, smoking ceremony and performances from some special guests. Then as the sun sets at 8pm the site will come alive with lights and video projections.

The event will run again on Saturday 17 December between 8pm and 10pm. The local community are invited to drop by to look, bring a picnic or grab a sausage from the sausage sizzle.

The event is free but bring cash for the sausage sizzle and coffee van or BYO your own picnic. This event is presented by the Adelong Progress Association with funding provided by Snowy Valleys Council.

“It has been a hard few years and this is a chance for us to stop and acknowledge what we have been through with friends and family.” Fiona Matthews from the Adelong Progress Association said. “With the support from Snowy Valleys Council we have been able to create this event for the community as a thankyou and to celebrate our resilience.”
