Art workshops, fencing workshop, bubble soccer, skate lessons and competitions and mountain bike trail rides are all part of a series of free and low-cost activities within the Snowy Valleys Council October holiday activities.

Art Workshops with Jess Forster

Local artist and teacher Jess Forster is holding a series of art workshops for those wanting to get out of the house to create something unique and beautiful to take home.

In a hands-on experience, participants will create art work whilst learning and developing their artistic skills and techniques. All materials are supplied and are locally + sustainably sourced.

Jess Forster is a sustainable artist, designer and educator from rural NSW. She creates artworks from locally sourced material.

Bubble Soccer & Nerf Guns

Free games of bubble soccer and nerf gun battles will be hosted by Pumped Up Parties.  Adult supervision will be provided. All participants must sign a waiver form before participating in the activities.

Fencing Workshop

Facilitated by local fencing enthusiast and instructor Samuel Hughes.

A brilliant taste tester for those who have never experienced fencing or are wanting to develop some basic skills.

Whilst fencing is not the most high profile sport, it provides many benefits for participants including being a brilliant workout, where participants can burn more than 400 calories per hour and a great way to improve mental agility.

Learn to skate/skate competition

Sydney based group Totem Skate School will be holding free skate boarding clinics for skaters of all levels.

Free lessons are followed by a skate, scooter and bmx competition with great prizes up for grabs.

Skate Jam

Sydney based group Totem Skate School will be hosting a 3 hour skate jam in Tumbarumba with great prizes up for grabs.

Mountain Bike Trail (MTB) Rides

Cycle Tumbarumba will be hosting two great days of riding on the best and newest MTB on trails in Tumbarumba with experienced local guide and MTB rider Peter Marshall and Cycle Tumbarumba members. The day will be devoted to riding on specially designed Mountain Bike (MTB) Trails. Participants are required to bring their own bike, helmet and appropriate bike riding apparel, riding gloves are also preferable. 

  • Thursday 4 October @Tumbarumba Flow Trail
  • 9.45am - 1pm
  • 9.45am - 1pm

Who: Ages 12yrs to18yrs

Cost: $5/rider for MTBA memebers  $7/rider for non members (Free trial membership available online to avoid a $7 MTBA day licence)

Bus from Tumut $25 - Registration and payment for the shuttles and Tumut bus will be done through MTBA online
