Weekend of Jazz with James Morrison Academy Jazz Orchestra

Following on from a smash hit event held in 2018, the James Morrison Academy Jazz Orchestra (JMAJO) will be visiting Tumut for the weekend of Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September 2019 and there are many options to choose from, including Sunset Dinner Jazz, an afternoon Jazz performance and student workshops.

The JMAJO is the premier performing ensemble of the internationally acclaimed James Morrison Academy program.  James Morrison himself directs the 20 piece big band jazz orchestra.

SUNSET DINNER JAZZ

When: Saturday 14th September

Where: Anglican Church Hall, River St Tumut

Time: 5.30pm to 10.00pm

Cost: Tickets $120 per person. Age 15+

Canapes and complimentary drink on arrival in the church gardens overlooking the Tumut River. Followed by two-courses and an intimate evening of jazz in the church hall. Drinks available for purchase at the bar.

The evening features a locally made Stuart & Sons grand piano.

AFTERNOON JAZZ PERFORMANCE

When: Sunday 15 September 2019

Where: Montreal Community Theatre, 44 Russell St Tumut

Time:  2.00pm to 4.15pm

Cost: Tickets Adult $40, School Age $30 and under 5 free

STUDENT WORKSHOPS

When: Sunday 15 September 2019

Where: Montreal Community Theatre, 44 Russell Street Tumut

Time: 10.00am - Students who have been playing for less than 12 months

          11.00am - Students who have been playing for more than 12 months         

Cost: Tickets Adult $70, School Age $40 (includes ticket to the afternoon performance)

Students will be performing with the big band during the afternoon performance.  Students of any age, any ability, any instrument welcome to attend.

Ensure you arrive 15 minutes before the workshop with your instrument.
