Community Drop-in Sessions for Recovery and Resilience Grants

Interested community groups and not-for-profits can access more information about the new SVC Recovery and Resilience Grants at pop-in sessions being held across the region during May.

Snowy Valleys Council will host informal information sessions for people who would like to learn more about the Grants program and how to apply.

Council’s Executive Director Community and Corporate Paul Holton said people can drop in and chat with staff about the grant guidelines and what projects are and are not eligible for funding.

“Our staff can also offer support with the SmartyGrants application process and it’s also a great opportunity to discuss project ideas,” said Mr Holton.

Drop-in session will be held in the following locations:

  • Adelong - Friday 30th April, 10am-12pm at the Mks Café
  • Batlow - Friday 30th April, 2pm-4pm at the Batlow Library
  • Tumut - Monday 3rd May, 10am-12pm in the Riverina Room, at the RHB Building
  • Tumbarumba - Tuesday 4th May, 2pm-4pm at the Council Chambers
  • Khancoban - Wednesday 5th May, 10am-12pm at the KUVA Offices

“Staff may also be available to meet at other locations upon request by contacting our Place Activation team on 1300 275 782,” Mr Holton said. 

Council launched the Recovery and Resilience Grants Program to continue its support for community recovery following the black summer bushfires.

A total of $62,500 in grant monies has been allocated under the program for Snowy Valleys’ based applications of between $500 and $5,000.

Eligible activities and projects may include access to arts and cultural events, social activities or community run events, workshops and seminars, community artworks or the purchase of equipment to add additional benefit to the services community groups can provide.

Applications opened on Monday 19th April 2021 and will close on Friday 28th May 2021.  Local not-for-profit groups and community organisations are invited to apply.
