Council Awards $100,000 in Community Grants

Live theatre, murals, sporting equipment, a storage shed, and clubhouse renovations are just some of the projects receiving funding through Council’s 2022/23 Community Grants Program.

Nineteen applications valued at $134,335 were received through the Strengthening Grants stream with thirteen projects approved for funding to the value of $60,000.

The Capital Sports Grants stream received seven applications to the value of $56,132 and six projects were approved for funding to the value of $40,000.

Mayor Ian Chaffey congratulated the successful applicants for their community-mindedness and endevouring to enhance the experience of living in the Snowy Valleys.

“There were strong contenders for the allocated funds, and I think we have a very rewarding outcome with a good apportion across the whole region,” he said.

  • Tumbarumba Golf Club - Conference and Training Centre $3,499
  • Tumbarumba Little Athletics - High Jump Mats $7,775
  • Tumut Girl Guides - Storage Shed $5,000
  • Tumut & District Historical Society - Collection Management of Tumut Museum $1,500
  • Tumut Regional Family Services - Growing Food and Flowers $780
  • Tumut Schools as Community Centre - Outdoor Playhouse $1,453
  • Upper Murray Community Radio - Furniture and Equipment $892
