UPDATE: The Snowy Valleys Carreers Expo has been rescheduled - the  NEW DATE is Wednesday 18th May 2022.

Snowy Valleys Council is reaching out to local businesses, agencies, and industry bodies to express an interest in presenting at the Snowy Valleys Careers Expo in March 2022.

Council is partnering with Training Services NSW to deliver the Careers Expo to help broaden local student’s awareness of the career opportunities available in the Snowy Valleys and to equip them with the knowledge and resources required to pursue a particular pathway.

Council’s Executive Director Community and Corporate Paul Holton said businesses who exhibit at the Expo will have the opportunity to present their business, the services and products they provide, and to speak with students about career opportunities.

"With many across the region experiencing staff and skill shortages, we anticipate that the event will benefit businesses and industry by attracting students to local jobs and career pathways,” said Mr Holton.

The Careers Expo is part of the Succeed in the Snowy Valleys Program, which launched in October last year when businesses from across the region gathered for information sessions to learn about attracting apprenticeships, traineeships, and school-based apprenticeships to support employment and career opportunities for local youth.

Council partnered with Training Services NSW to deliver the employer information sessions, and this is also the case for the Careers Expo, which is scheduled for Wednesday 2 March 2022.

The Expo, which will take place at the Tumut Boys Club Hall and adjacent netball courts, will host year 9-12 students from Tumut, McAuley, Batlow, Tumbarumba and Gundagai High Schools who will be attending the event throughout the day.
