Snowy Valleys Council is seeking expressions of interest from music industry professionals local to the Snowy Valleys for the role of Curator for its upcoming Live and Local Program.

Delivered in partnership with the Live Music Office and APRA AMCOS, Live and Local is a capacity building program designed for local grassroots live music communities including musicians, businesses, venues, and local industry workers.

The program aims to foster a consistent approach to best practice sustainable live music presentation, supported by better regulation and policy implementation that assists with growth through all levels of the live music industry and provides clear career pathways for new and emerging musicians and industry professionals.

Council’s Executive Director Community and Corporate Paul Holton said Council is seeking expressions of interest from people involved in the local music industry who would be keen to take on the program’s curator role.

“We are looking to appoint someone who is well connected to the local live music scene to come on board in a flexible part-time capacity for approximately six months,” Mr Holton said.

Ultimately the curator role will include undertaking a local musician and venue mapping project, participation in a Live and Local Working Group and delivery of a local industry forum and professional development workshops.

Council staff will also assist in implementing specific event marketing and communications.
