Customer service, early childhood educators and community capacity building are just some of the skills being sought as Council advertises to fill recent vacancies.

Snowy Valleys Council is currently seeking qualified people to fill roles within their customer service, children’s services and community and cultural development teams.

Council General Manager Matthew Hyde said the customer service and early childhood educator positons were located at the Tumubarumba end while the other position depended on the successful applicant’s preference.

“All senior officers in Council work across the Tumut and Tumbarumba offices as part of their role, while other positions are usually fixed to a specific office location,” Mr Hyde said.

“Currently we have over 100 staff based at the Tumbarumba office which is more than there was at the time of the formation of Snowy Valleys Council.

“We recognise the challenges associated with building a new organisation and have a suite of initiatives to help build and sustain a positive working culture amongst our people, be they office or field based.”

Council is seeking experienced people for the following positions:

  • Customer Service Officer, Tumbarumba Office
  • Early Childhood Educator Cert III (Casual), Tumbarumba/Khancoban
  • Early Childhood Teacher Educator Team Leader, Tumbarumba/Khancoban
  • Project Officer Crime Prevention (Temp), Tumut/Tumbarumba

Applications for the Customer Service Role closes at 5pm on Wednesday 21 November, while the closing date for the Project Officer – Crime Prevention is Sunday 2 December 2018, and the childhood educator applications close Sunday 9 December.

“I encourage anyone with the right qualifications and who is keen to develop a career with Council to apply,” Mr Hyde said.
