Council's Customer Service Centres Close Their Doors

Snowy Valleys Council has closed its customer facing service centres in Tumbarumba and Tumut to the public effective from Wednesday 25 March.
Council’s CEO Matthew Hyde said Council staff will remain working at this time to support ongoing service delivery and customers will still be able to speak to customer service staff by phone and email.
"We understand these changes will cause some disruption to the routine of our community, but we have made this difficult decision to reduce the risk to our community and staff, and to support the federal and state government's social distancing measures," he said.
Mr Hyde said that to help make payments as easy as possible Council will waive all credit card surcharges on phone payments made with Visa or Mastercard until further notice.
"We know the Government is encouraging people not to use and handle cash so we wanted to make it as easy as possible for people to pay without incurring additional fees,” he said.
Customers can call Council on 1300 ASK SVC (1300 275 782) ready with thier invoice and credit card details to make a payment over the phone and a receipt can then be emailed or posted out.
“These are difficult and unprecedented times and our staff remain available via phone and email and will continue to do everything possible to assist customers with their enquiries,” Mr Hyde said.
