Planning is underway for the 2021 Snowy Valleys Winter Bites Festival with Snowy Valleys Council appointing King Events to assist in planning and delivering the events next year.

Council undertook a recruitment process for the coordinator that resulted in applications from highly talented and qualified event professionals from across NSW, ACT and Victoria.

Acting Executive Director Community and Corporate James Butt said, “We are pleased to have appointed Belinda King of King Events.

“Ms King was successful based on her experience, vision for the festival, professionalism and established relationships with key stakeholders across the Snowy Valleys and the wider region”.

Mr Butt said that Council’s Place Activation team have also engaged Moshtix as the ticketing provider and is working with LiveNation on talent booking and production.

“Both Moshtix and LiveNation will support marketing of the festival through their channels, which is a boost for the events as we will be able to reach new markets,” he said.

King Events has experience in delivering high-profile events, including Griffith’s annual festival La Fest, Tumbafest, ArtState, and The Regional Tourism Awards.

“We are excited to have Belinda on board. Her passion for regional tourism and events shines through in all she delivers,” said Mr Butt.

Local businesses and community members are also being encouraged to become involved in the festival.

“There are a number of ways to be involved including being an exhibitor, hosting a Winter Bites fringe event before or after the Festival or by being a Winter Bites Ambassador,” said Mr Butt.

“Council will be organising business and community information sessions in February 2021 to communicate directly with locals about the festival and the opportunity to be involved.

“More information about these sessions, including dates and locations will be released early in the new year”.

Snowy Valleys Council received funding through the Regional Tourism Bushfire Recovery (RTBR) Grants in 2020 for the development and delivery of three single-day events.

The events are to take place in winter 2021 in Tumbarumba (5 June), Adelong (17 July) and Batlow (28 August). These towns were selected as they were significantly impacted by the Dunn's Road Bushfire.
