Local Networking Events Hailed a Success

Welcome to Spring Events

Local networking evenings have been hailed a success by members of the business community who came out to unite, connect and be inspired in Tumut and Tumbarumba.

Snowy Valleys Council recently hosted two successful business networking events in Tumut and Tumbarumba bringing together businesspeople from across the region to learn more about the local business environment, be inspired by guest speakers and enjoy locally sourced food and drink.

Council’s Executive Director Community and Corporate Paul Holton said council staff were pleased with the turn out and had received positive feedback from those in attendance.

“Events such as these are just some of the latest examples of the ways in which Council is committed to supporting the local business community,” he said.

“Covid restrictions have been isolating for us all, so we were pleased to provide this opportunity for our business community to connect and interact with other like-minded professionals in a relaxed setting.”

The Tumut event was held at The Coach House Kitchen on Wednesday 6th October where owners, Jess Simpson and Simone Guascoine catered for the group and shared their experiences running a new start-up business.

The Tumbarumba event held the following night at Forage Merchant & Occasions featured a talk from local business owner Peter Marshall, who spoke about his two businesses, Ride Tumba and Tumba Cottages and his involvement with Cycle Tumbarumba.

Mel and Victor Goustavsky from Talbingo-based business Our Snowy Tours spoke at both events about their established touring company that provides day tours and charters for small groups in the Snowy Valleys.

Business Connect’s Ann Sutton and Kevin Bascomb also spoke at both events sharing information about programs and packages currently available to business owners.

Attendees enjoyed food, wine and beverages from local suppliers including Munday’s Catering, The Coach House Kitchen and Ladbroken Distilling Co.
