Service Counters Re-Open

- Tumut and Tumbarumba counters open from 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday
- Service NSW counter (Tumbarumba Office) open from 10am to 12noon and 2pm to 4pm, Monday to Thursday
Following an easing of COVID-19 restrictions across the state Snowy Valleys Council have re-opened their customer service counters for face-to-face assistance in Tumut and Tumbarumba.
CEO Matthew Hyde said while doors had re-opened Council encouraged customers to continue to interact with staff by phone or email in the first instance to help reduce any health risks.
“We have been consistently delivering our services in alternative ways since late March and these opportunities via phone, email and on-line remain the best low risk ways to continue to do transactional business with Council at this time,” Mr Hyde said.
“Those most likely needing to attend our counters will be people in the higher risk health categories including the more elderly in our community, so with less people we can ensure the space is as safe as possible and that we can easily adhere to social distancing requirements,” he said.
Both the Tumut and Tumbarumba counters will open from 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday. While the Service NSW counter at the Tumbarumba Office will open from 10am to 12noon and 2pm to 4pm, Monday to Thursday.
Mr Hyde said customers would see a different layout and social distancing measures at the counters to help ensure the 1.5 metre rule could be maintained.
“We have ensured that as we open our doors again for face-to-face services there are adequate social distancing measures in place to help protect our people as well as our communities,” he said.
Council closed its doors in late March 2020 in line with stronger Government restrictions around the COVID-19 pandemic but has continued to offer customer service by phone and email.
