Community members are being invited to review and provide feedback on the Draft Talbingo and Yarrangobilly MTB Masterplan.

Identified as a bushfire recovery project, Snowy Valleys Council received funding from the NSW Government to develop a Masterplan for the project.

“Post bushfires our tourism and small business recovery subcommittee identified Talbingo as an area of great potential,” said Kristin Twomey, Acting Director Community and Corporate.

“The Snowy Valleys is continuing to establish itself as a cycling destination and Council believes this project has the potential to increase day visitation and short stay holidays to Talbingo and surrounds,” Ms Twomey said.

Council engaged Natural Trails to develop the Masterplan which includes a Business Case, Review of Environmental Factors and draft trail designs.

As well as providing online space for feedback, Council will also host two community drop-in sessions where people can review and discuss the draft masterplan in person with Council’s Place Activation team and a representative from Natural Trails who will also be available to answer questions.

Community drop-in sessions:

  • Tumut - Friday 22nd January – @Coffee Pedaler - 11am to 2pm
  • Talbingo - Saturday 23rd January – @Talbingo Shopping Centre – 12pm to 3pm.

People can also view and provide comment on the draft document online via Council’s YourVoice website: yourvoice.svc.nsw.gov.au/talbingo-and-yarrangobilly-mtb-masterplan

Public submissions close on Sunday 7 February 2021.
