Caddy liners

From 1 July 2022 all households with a FOGO collection service can access a digital voucher for a roll of compostable caddy liners. Click here to find out more

Caddy liners are also available for purchase from Council offices, libraries and resource recovery centres at $15 per roll. The liner supplied by Council is a lime green compostable 8 litre bag made by Cardia Bioproducts (product number PSB-C-0121-A). A roll has 150 bags which should last on average 1 year.

If purchasing from local supermarkets or online retailers must be compostable to Australian standard AS4736. Anything else will contaminate the load, adding to the processing cost.

Handy tips

  • You can also use newspaper to line your caddy, or use no liner at all (no plastic bags).
  • Clean your caddy regularly using hot soapy water. You can even pop it in the dishwasher.
  • Eat more of your food - write a weekly menu plan and make a shopping list, so you only buy what you need. Recycling food is great but eating it is better.
