Celebrating NAIDOC Week 2025

Snowy Valleys Council will join with Elders from the Brungle Tumut Local Aboriginal Land Council (BTLALC) and the Ngarigo Toomaroombah Kunama Namadgi Indigenous Corporation (NTKNIC) in marking NAIDOC week 2025 at flag-raising ceremonies in Tumut and Tumbarumba.
A Flag Raising Ceremony, Welcome to Country and NAIDOC address will be held outside council offices in Tumut on Tuesday 8 July at 10.00am followed by a Smoking Ceremony and morning tea hosted by BTLALC at the Riverside Café.
On Wednesday 9 July a Flag-Raising Ceremony, Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony and NAIDOC address will be held outside council offices in Tumbarumba, followed by a morning tea hosted by NTKNIC at the RSL Hall.

NAIDOC Week is a national celebration that occurs in July each year.
This year's theme, ‘The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy’, celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of our young leaders, the vision of our communities, and the legacy of our ancestors.
