Employment Under De-amalgamation Transition

Snowy Valleys Council is currently subject to a proposed de-amalgamation process which is expected to result in the establishment of two successor Councils effective from 1 July 2028. 

In event of de-amalgamation all employee positions, functions, and work areas will be allocated to a successor council, and employment will be transferred to that successor council in accordance with any applicable legislation, industrial instrument, government direction, or approved transition arrangements without requirement to apply for the transferred position.

In the event of a transfer and consistent with provisions of Part 5, Chapter 11, Local Government Act 1993,  all entitlements will be preserved including recognition of continuity of service and transfer of accrued leave.

Council is currently seeking applications from interested parties to undertake the following positions across our five Pools (Adelong, Batlow, Khancoban, Tumbarumba and Tumut).

Council supports school-based experince and post-school/vocational work placements and provides opportunities for placements across a range of service areas providing that appropriate supervision and resources are available.

Entry Level and Casual Employment Opportunities

Our entry level program provides a range of opportunities to join Council's team as a trainee or apprentice. Casual employment allows Council to supplement our permanent workforce to meet service requirements on an as-needs basis.
