Community Participation Plan

From 1 September 2026, the NSW Government’s Statewide Community Participation Plan applies to planning authorities across NSW, including Snowy Valleys Council.

The Statewide Community Participation Plan replaces Council’s previous Community Participation Plan and establishes consistent requirements for the notification and public exhibition of planning matters, including development applications and strategic planning proposals.

Council will continue to engage with the Snowy Valleys community using locally appropriate engagement methods. However, the statutory notification and exhibition requirements for planning matters are now set by the Statewide Community Participation Plan.

Please note: transitional arrangements apply to development applications and modification applications lodged before 1 September 2026, which remain subject to the community participation requirements applying at the time they were lodged.
