Council uses a range of plans and strategies to help guide decision making and provide services for the community. Developed incorporating extensive input from the public, these documents form the foundations on which the organisation operates.

The purpose of the Community Participation Plan is to make participation in the Snowy Valleys planning system easy and meaningful as possible. Community participation in planning creates a shared sense of purpose and direction that manages growth while protecting the natural environment and promoting sustainable management of built and cultural heritage.

Council through partial funding from the NSW Community Recovery and Resilience Fund worked with our local community to prepare community-led Roadmaps aimed at understanding our places, spaces, and networks that connect us to build stronger more socially cohesive and resilient communities.

These Roadmaps identify the community-led vision, aspirations, and ideas to build more socially connected.

A Plan of Management (PoM) is a legal document that outlines how public land will be used, managed, and maintained. It sets out land values, intended future uses, and development objectives.

These Council Managed Crown Land - Plans of Management address the subject land as it is today and establishes directions for future management and use of these public resources to meet the diverse needs of the community. The Plans of Management also authorise Council to renew and enter into future leases and licences over the subject lands where certain conditions can be met.

  • The updated Council Managed Crown Land Plan of Management (Reserves) were formally adopted on 21 November 2024.
  • The Richmond Park & Stockwell Gardens Plan of Management were formally adopted on 15 May 2025.

 

 

The purpose of the Information Guide is to provide members of the community, Council employees, and the public with information concerning the structure and functions of Council and how the functions of Council affect members of the public, the avenues available to the public to participate in policy development and the exercise of Council’s functions, and the type of information available.
