Current Opportunities

Work Experience

Council provides opportunities for unpaid work experience for students in years 10, 11 or 12 who either reside or go to school in the Snowy Valleys Local Government area.  These placements provide the opportunity for students to gain insight into the local government industry and specific professions prior to undertaking further education or entering the workforce.

While we aim to provide all applicants with work experience in their preferred area where possible, at times it may be necessary to offer alternative arrangements or decline some applications due to operational and safety requirements.

Work Placements

Work Placements are designed to assist individuals studying either a post school qualification or enrolled in a vocational program to gain on the job experience required to complete their qualification. The periods of placement will be for a maximum of 12 weeks.
