Change to Customer Service Office Hours
Published on 28 June 2019
From 1 July Snowy Valleys Council’s Tumbarumba Customer Service office hours will change to 8.30pm – 4.30pm Monday to Friday, standardising Customer Service office hours across Council and ensuring end-of-day processing can take place within business hours.
“This change was made as a result of our ongoing practice of reviewing the services on offer across Council and identifying where work procedures could be standardised in order to achieve efficiencies of service,” said Robyn Harvey, Council’s Director of Internal Services.
““Less than 5% of customer interactions occurr between 4.30pm and 5.00pm so implementing a 30 minute earlier closing time provides an avenue for Council to reduce the need for staff to work overtime and after-hours, creating cost savings with minimal impact on service,” Ms Harvey went on to say.
Customers will still be able to contact Council using the 1300 ASK SVC phone number until 5pm and submit online enquiries around the clock. Rates payments can also be made afterhours via bpay, by phone and online with credit card or by posting a cheque or money order.
The change in hours will not impact on the RMS and Service NSW agency operations.
