Community Information Sessions – Boundaries Commission Process

Snowy Valleys Council is holding community information sessions to provide updates on the de-amalgamation proposal and share information on how to participate in the NSW Local Government Boundaries Commission process.

On 5 September 2023, Council submitted a De-amalgamation Business Case proposal to the Minister for Local Government who referred it to the Local Government Boundaries Commission for examination.

The Local Government Boundaries Commission has now released dates for public hearings regarding SVC’s proposal for de-amalgamation, along with the opportunity for written submissions.

Written submissions should be forwarded to the Local Government Boundaries Commission, Executive Officer, Locked Bag 3015, Nowra NSW 2541 or emailed to [email protected] by COB Monday 3 June 2024.

Registrations to attend the public inquiry are open until 5:00 pm 27 May 2024 and can be made at www.olg.nsw.gov.au/lgbc or by contacting the executive officer on (02) 4428 4160.

The inquiry proceedings will be webcast through the Boundaries Commission webpage for those unable to attend the venue.

Community Information Sessions will be held as follows:

  • Tumut - Tuesday 14 May – 6:00pm at the Riverina Highlands Building (Gundagai Room)

     

  • Tumbarumba - Wednesday 15 May – 6:00pm at the RSL Hall
