Snowy Valleys Council has launched a fresh new-look corporate website, improving the experience for residents, businesses and visitors looking to contact the council, access its services, and find information online.

Council’s Chief Executive Officer Matthew Hyde said the new-look site offered users a streamlined modern design and improved functionality.

“As more people move to seeking their information online the updated SVC website improves the user’s experience by making things easier to find with just one click,” Mr Hyde said.

As well as a fresh modern look and feel, the refreshed site offers:

  • Simplified and clear navigation making it easier to find what you're looking for
  • A range of key tasks easily identified at the top of the home page
  • An updated menu bar better aligned to the user experience
  • Cleaner and consistent page layouts, less cluttered pages
  • Improved site search facility
  • Easy accessed links to social media pages

The Snowy Valleys Council official website was originally launched to coincide with the election of the inaugural Council back in 2017 and Mr Hyde said it was only fitting that a refresh of the site should be timed with the election of a new council in 2021.

“The aim is to keep all residents informed of what the Council is doing while providing two-way online communication on important issues and concerns,” said Mr Hyde.

“I encourage those seeking Council information to use the SVC website as your first point of call, our online contact form is also an easy way to connect with council whether to make a request, to compliment staff or provide feedback,” he said.

“Improvement is ongoing, and we will continue to update and refine the site to ensure best practice.”

The redesigned council website, which launched quietly last week, will improve the experience for users offering a gateway to Council, its services, events, news, meetings and so much more.
