Project to build a Multipurpose Centre which has sufficient capacity to double as an Evacuation Centre in times of emergency.


Total Budget - $13,685,000 - NSW Government and the Commonwealth Government's Local Economic Recovery Fund.

Project Update July 2024

At their June 2024 meeting Councillors resolved to approve the Richmond Park site, opposite the Tumut Bowling Club as the preferred site for the Multipurpose Centre building. Read the full media release here.

What's next?

  • We'll be doing some Geotech investigations and final feasibility studies.
  • If all goes well, we'll move forward with detailed design plans in preparation of a Development Application.
  • During the Development Application process, interested stakeholders and community members will get a chance to review and provide feedback.
