Dozens of families from all over the region flocked to Adelong Falls on Australia day, to picnic and have fun in the Adelong creek.

Snowy Valleys Director Strategy, Community & Development Gus Cox said he was delighted to see the site being enjoyed by local families and visitors.

”Not only does the Falls reserve contain one of the most important heritage sites in NSW but it also offers recreation facilities for everyone to enjoy”, Mr Cox said.

Visiting families, couples and large groups travelled from across the region, including from Wagga Wagga and Cootamundra as well as local towns, to enjoy their Australia Day celebrations and cool off in the beautiful, clear creek water.

Visitors were respectful of the site with minimal disruption to the local landscape, leaving very little garbage behind.

We are delighted to see the site used in such a way and even more so when there was clearly a respect for all who care for the reserve.  For this we say thank you to all our visitors.”
