Snowy Valleys Council is inviting young people to take part in a fun and free program of activities during the upcoming school holidays.

The program includes a mix of hands-on workshops and creative sessions designed to keep kids entertained, engaged and learning new skills.

A practical, hands-on car skills workshop will run in Tumut on Tuesday 30 September and in Tumbarumba on Thursday 2 October.

The session is designed to give new drivers the confidence to tackle basic car maintenance, including how to change a flat tyre and other everyday safety tips.

The workshops will be led by a qualified mechanic teacher, with support from NSW Police, Council Rangers and Service NSW representatives.

Young creatives aged 12 and over can join a free full-day workshop at the Batlow Literary Institute on Thursday 9 October from 9am to 3pm.

Participants will design and print their own unique t-shirt and make a snow globe cup, going home with two personalised creations. Lunch is provided.

Council’s Libraries will also host a wide range of free and low-cost arts and craft sessions, including monster puzzles, brain games and kindness badges.

Spring is also the perfect time for families to enjoy the many parks, playgrounds, walking tracks and bike paths available throughout the Snowy Valleys.
