Community Recycling Centres (CRC), container deposit scheme Retun & Earn and the Tumut Re-use Shop all operate within the Tumut Resource Recovery Centre.

Please note: Our Resource Recovery Centre are now cashless - Use your Visa or Mastercard to EFTPOS or Tap-and-Go when paying to dispose of waste materials.(No cash-out available). 

 Closed all public holidays (including Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday).

Return and Earn

Snowy Valleys residents can get a 10 cent refund for eligible drink containers at the Tumut Waste and Recycling Centre.

As part of the NSW Government’s container deposit scheme Return and Earn, a collection point has been established in the Re-Use shop at the Tumut Waste and Recycling Centre Gilmore.

The NSW Return and Earn scheme will help to reduce the 160 million drink containers littered in our environment each year.  Drink containers make up almost half of the volume of litter in NSW.

Eligible drink containers include most between 150mls and three litres, uncrushed, unbroken and with the original label attached. For more information visit the Return and Earn website 

Tumut Re-Use Shop

 You can now take your old, but reusable items to the Re-Use Shop at Tumut Waste Centre, Gilmore. Goods dropped off at the Re-Use Shop will be cleaned and sold through the shop. Not only a great way for you to clean up, but you may also find yourself quite the bargain!
