It will be business as usual for the Tumbarumba Caravan Park when Snowy Valleys Council assumes management of the facility at the end of June.

Council’s Director of Assets and Infrastructure Matthew Christensen says that while long term arrangements for the facility are still to be considered, the Tumbarumba Caravan Park is not closing.

“Council will be employing an experienced temporary manager for the park and for now bookings can be made through the Tumbarumba Visitor’s Centre,” he said

“Our tourism team is developing a new website and online booking system and we are also in the process of contacting pre-booked guests, community event managers and major industry customers to confirm existing bookings and ensure a smooth transition”.

Mr Christensen says Council is also working to limit the impact on guests while the facility undergoes some changes.

“Several upgrades are planned for the park including installation of a dump point, fencing and boom gates. The amenities and lodges will get a spring clean while we will tend to the gardens and lawns. A temporary office will also be set up on site while a new long term office and manager’s residence is constructed.” he said.
