Business as usual for Kerbside pickups over Christmas

Residents are encouraged to put their bins out as per normal during the Christmas period.

“We’re not making any changes to kerbside pickups over the Christmas break,” Council’s Acting Director Assets and Infrastructure Heinz Kausche said.

“Trucks will run across the SVC region as per normal scheduling including pickups on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day”.

For Talbingo residents there will also be an additional recycling pickup on Friday 28 December.

“The number of residents in Talbingo doubles over Christmas so we are including an extra recycling pickup to help cater for the increase,” Mr Kausche said.

“We are also dropping off an additional skip bin for cardboard and paper and 10 additional waste bins at theTalbingo waste transfer station to cater for the influx of visitors and tourists over the holiday period”.

Council’s Waste and Recycling Depots will be closed across all the public holiday days and operate as per normal hours at other times.
