The Group Accommodation upgrade at the Tumbarumba Creek Caravan Park is progressing with all plumbing and electrical works for the two story accommodation units now complete.

Situated in the northern section of the park the two double story modules are capable of sleeping up to 120 people and will include laundry units and camp kitchen facilities.

Council Director Assets & Infrastructure Matt Christensen acknowledged that construction work had fallen behind schedule.

“We understand this is a major priority for the Tumbarumba Community and we are heavily invested in the completion of the project”, Mr Christensen said.

Currently work is underway on installing the building’s roofing and decking while construction of water and sewerage mains is expected to be completed in time to accommodate visitors for Tumbafest.

“Despite some heavy setbacks, we are optimistic that the accommodation facilities will now be ready in time for Tumbafest in late February”, Mr Christensen said.

This is the first stage of the Tumbarumba Creek Caravan Park redevelopment and will provide a space of increased accommodation during peak times.
