Snowy Valleys Council’s Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) documents are being refined and tabled this week in anticipation of final endorsement at the June 28 ordinary Council meeting.

Council’s General Manager Matthew Hyde said he was pleased with the level of community comment received from the document’s public exhibition period.

“These documents are the most important documents Council has in making sure we deliver what the Snowy Valleys’ community told us they want and we welcomed the feedback received on the draft documents,” Mr Hyde said.

The Integrated Planning and Reporting draft framework documents were on public exhibition and available for community comment from Thursday 10 May to Friday 8 June 2018.

Mr Hyde said all community comments were taken into consideration and in many cases they generated a refinement or change in the documents.

“All submissions were provided to Councillors and senior staff for discussion and consideration and a summary of these submissions will be tabled in a public document as part of the Council report”, Mr Hyde said.

The suite of IP&R plans include:

The Community Strategic Plan, which highlights the five community strategic priorities: Towns and villages, Our natural environment, Growth through innovation, Communication and engagement, and Our infrastructure.

The Delivery Plan and Operational Plan which outline the priority areas that Council will focus on over the next three years and defines the key actions and resources Council will undertake in the next financial year towards achieving the long term community priorities. The 2018/19 Fees and Charges Schedule sets out the fees that Council can charge for all services and programs over the coming financial year.

The Long Term Financial Plan projects Council’s financial position for at least 10 years, the Workforce Plan addresses the human element of Council, outlining Council’s strategies and actions for developing and maintaining a workforce to underpin the delivery objectives outlined in the Delivery Program, and the Asset Management Plans show how Council’s asset portfolio will meet the service delivery needs of its community into the future.

“The development of this new suite of Integrated planning and reporting documents has been a unique and positive opportunity for a fresh approach to how Council best plans for and reports on its operations,” Mr Hyde said.

The draft documents can still be viewed on Council’s website

The June ordinary meeting of Council will be held on Thursday 28 of June in Council chambers, Tumbarumba starting at 2pm.  The meeting will also be livestreamed on Council’s youtube channel.
