Outdoor Movie Night - How to Train Your Dragon

Join us for a free family outdoor movie at Rotary Pioneer Park, Tumut and enjoy How to Train Your Dragon under the stars in the perfect park setting.

Saturday 18 April - Movie starts at 6pm.

Some beanbags will be available (first in, best dressed), but we recommend bringing picnic rugs, blankets and warm clothes so you can settle in comfortably for the night.

The Youth Council will be running a BBQ and popcorn stall — cash only.

This is a family-friendly event proudly supported by the NSW Government, with funding provided under the Youth Week Grants Program.

About the movie

The 2025 live-action How to Train Your Dragon reimagines the beloved animated story that launched the popular franchise.

On the rugged isle of Berk, Vikings and dragons have been bitter enemies for generations. Hiccup (Mason Thames) is the inventive yet overlooked son of Chief Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler), who defies tradition when he forms an unlikely friendship with Toothless, a feared Night Fury dragon.

Their bond reveals the true nature of dragons and challenges everything the Vikings believe.

With help from the fierce and ambitious Astrid (Nico Parker) and the village’s quirky blacksmith Gobber (Nick Frost), Hiccup must navigate a world divided by fear and misunderstanding.
