Annual Event Sponsorship Program Opens for Applications

Local event organisers, community groups and organisations are invited to apply for council sponsorship to support their upcoming event.

Snowy Valleys Council has opened its annual Event Sponsorship Program inviting not-for-profit and incorporated event organisers of new and well-established events to apply for financial sponsorship for local programs and events set to be held between 1 September 2024 and 30 June 2025.

This year three levels of funding are available depending on the classification of the event. Organisers can apply for the level of funding that best represents their event.

• Up to $1,000 - Community Events: Events managed by community groups and organisations aimed at local community members and individual towns within the Snowy Valleys region.
• $1,000-$5,000 - Developing Events: Events that are developing, expanding, or changing/updating
• $5,000-$10,000 - Flagship Events: Major tourism events that demonstrate sound organisational planning, attract significant attendance and/or overnight visitation and enhance the profile and economy of the Snowy Valleys Local region.

The application process involves submitting the Event Sponsorship Application Form, specifying the requested dollar amount, and providing relevant supporting quotes and documentation.

To be eligible events must be delivered during the specified period, within the Snowy Valleys Local Government Area, and seek to primarily benefit residents, service organisations and/or groups within the Snowy Valleys.

Council has a long history of supporting local events and in 2023/24 provided $55,000 in financial support to twenty-seven local events helping to cover the costs of items including delivery and collection of garbage bins, entertainment, traffic control and ground hire fees.
