Australia Day Awards 2022 - Nominations Now Open

Nominations are now open for the 2022 Snowy Valleys Region Australia Day Awards.
Community members are encouraged to acknowledge the contribution made by friends, family members, co-workers or groups whose efforts have helped to make the Snowy Valleys community a better place, by nominating them for an award.
The Snowy Valleys Council Australia Day Awards provide an opportunity to celebrate the achievement and contribution that individuals and community organisations make in the Snowy Valleys area.
Award recipients will be announced at the official Snowy Valleys Australia Day Event held on 26 January 2022 at Stockwell Gardens, Tumut.
Snowy Valleys Award categories are:
- Snowy Valleys Citizen of the Year - Recognising individuals aged 30 and over who have made an outstanding contribution to the Snowy Valleys community over many years.
- Snowy Valleys Young Citizen of the Year - Recognising individuals aged 16-30 who have made an inspirational contribution to the Snowy Valleys community.
- Snowy Valleys Service to the Community - Recognising individuals or organisations who have made a noteworthy contribution to the Snowy Valleys community.
- Snowy Valleys Sports Person of the Year - Recognising individuals who have achieved sporting success representing their club or association at regional, state level or above.
- Snowy Valleys Sports Team of the Year - Recognising sporting groups who have achieved sporting success at a representative level for their club or association at regional, state level or above.
- Snowy Valleys Environmental Champion of the Year - Recognising individuals or organisations championing litter reduction and/or environmental initiatives in the Snowy Valleys community.
Nomination forms can be accessed via Council’s website www.svc.nsw.gov.au/ADA-nominations. Hard copies can also be picked up from Council Offices and Libraries.
Applications close at 5pm on Friday 10 December 2021.
