Local libraries across the Snowy Valleys are set to celebrate seniors with a week of special events designed to engage, entertain, and connect the community.

From book chats and creative workshops to digital resource assistance and engaging story times, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

The week kicks off on Tuesday, 18 March, with a Book Chat and afternoon tea at the Tumbarumba Library from 1pm. The following day, Tumut Library will host Brain Games and Trivia from 10:30am, including a free morning tea for attendees.

For those interested in exploring their artistic side, Tumut Library is hosting a special Watercolour Class on Monday, 24 March, from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Bookings are essential for this event due to limited places.

Grandparents are invited to share the joy of storytelling with their grandchildren during Grandparents Storytime sessions at various locations:

  • Batlow Library – Tuesday, 18 March, 10:30am
  • Tumbarumba Library – Wednesday, 19 March, 10:30am
  • Tumut Library – Thursday, 20 March, 10:30am

Additionally, seniors can receive assistance with library e-resources through drop-in help sessions, where they can learn how to access digital newspapers, borrow books and audiobooks, and navigate library apps. These sessions will be available at:

  • Tumut Library – Tuesday, 18 March, 10:30am – 12:30pm
  • Tumbarumba Library – Thursday, 20 March, 10:30am – 12:30pm
  • Tumut Library – Friday, 21 March, 10:30am – 12:30pm
  • Batlow Library – Monday, 24 March, 1:30pm – 3:30pm

Local Seniors are invited to join the celebration and make the most of these fantastic opportunities to connect, learn, and enjoy at their local library. For more details or to book a session, contact your nearest library or visit www.svc.nsw.gov.au/events.
