Arts and Development Grants 2019

Festival entertainment, local theatre props, a choral concert, nursing home musical entertainment and a garden sculpture competition are just some of the projects receiving funding through Council’s 2019 Art & Cultural Development Grants.

Snowy Valleys Council in partnership with Snowy Hydro recently awarded $22,959 in funding for local community arts and cultural development events.

Council’s Mayor Cr James Hayes congratulated the grant recipients and said the quality of applications was high again this year.

“The assessment process was extremely competitive and it’s gratifying to learn about the exciting programs, events, festivals and projects that local community groups wish to deliver,” he said.

In 2018 successful community projects and programs using grant funds included the Tumut Potter’s Raku pottery workshop, the Adelong preschool’s cultural day and the Aboriginal Women’s Regional Yarn Up.

Nine projects were successful in receiving 2019 Art & Cultural Development grants:

  • Festival of the Falling Leaf - Festival entertainment - $4,000
  • Franklin Public School – Combined public schools band mentor program - $4,000
