Community Invited to View Draft Plans for Adelong Main Street

Snowy Valleys Council has prepared a draft masterplan and concept design for Adelong’s Main Street and is inviting the community to have their say.

Developed in consultation with the Adelong Main Street Community Stakeholder Group, the masterplan outlines a proposed long-term vision for the main street. It focuses on improving drainage, safety, streetscape design and overall usability, and will guide future funding applications.

Community members are invited to view the draft masterplan and share their feedback at upcoming information sessions:

• Presentation Session - Wednesday 4 March 6.00pm

  Council’s design team will give a presentation at the Adelong Services & Citizens Club on Wednesday 4 March at 6.00pm. The session will outline the concept design, key features and provide an opportunity for community questions and feedback.

• Pop-Up Stall - Thursday 5 March 9.30am to 11.30am

A pop-up stall will be held on Adelong’s Main Street, outside FoodWorks, on Thursday, 5 March from 9.30am to 11.30am. Community members are welcome to drop by, view the concept designs, speak with the design team and Council’s Project Manager, and provide feedback.

Council appointed an urban design consultant in November 2025 and stakeholder consultation was undertaken in December. Stakeholder feedback has helped shape priorities, including drainage solutions, pedestrian safety, road layout, heritage character, planting schemes, lighting and broader streetscape improvements.

Additional community feedback received at the community information sessions will help inform the detailed design, which is expected to be presented to Council in April.

This design phase of the project is funded by the NSW Office of Local Government through the Severe Weather and Flood Grant program and will support future funding applications for the construction stage.
