Snowy Valleys Council is currently seeking tender proposals for the design and construction of new amenities and learn to swim pools as part of upgrades to public pools across the region.

Thanks to Government funding, Council pools at Batlow, Khancoban and Tumut will receive upgrades with work set to get underway in 2022.

Council’s Executive Director Infrastructure Heinz Kausche said the tender process was one of the first milestones in the projects that are to be delivered by June 2023.

“Tenders close on Monday 17 January 2022, and we expect to be able to undertake the review and seek Council approval to accept an offer by April,” Mr Kausche said.

The Batlow pool is set to get a $1.7million facelift including new amenities, a wet deck for the toddler pool, a ramp into the main pool, a new baby pool with splash play area, shade structures and improved infrastructure.

Stage two of the Tumut pool upgrades will improve swimming facilities for babies and young children, with a splash play area and learn-to-swim pool.

The Khancoban pool will be fitted out with modern toilet and amenities, and solar heating to improve water temperatures.

Council received $3.3M in funding for the upgrades from Stage Two of the Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund co-funded by State and Commonwealth governments.

Tender lodgement is via the Tenderlink electronic tender box. For further enquiries please use the Tenderlink Q&A online forum at www.tenderlink.com/snowyvalleys.
