Council to Investigate Visitor Information Hubs Initiative
Published on 19 November 2024
Snowy Valleys Council plans to partner with local businesses to integrate Visitor Information Hubs within their establishments, aiming to redefine how tourists access information while visiting the region.
Over the last year, more than 69,000 people stopped by the existing Tumut and Tumbarumba Visitor Information Centers in search of tourism information.
The new initiative envisions Visitor Information Hubs within complementary businesses such as gift shops, co-ops, provedores, and art galleries, increasing the reach of local tourism information while encouraging additional foot traffic and dwell time for participating businesses.
Businesses participating in the initiative will be supported with staff training and promotional materials to ensure each hub is well-equipped to serve as an essential community resource, directing visitors on what to see, where to stay, and how to navigate the area.
Expressions of Interest will open in early 2025, providing a unique opportunity for local businesses to be at the forefront of tourism engagement in the Snowy Valleys region.
