Jingellic community members will have the opportunity to get close and personal with Councillors at an upcoming informal ‘Cuppa with a Councillor’ session.

The ‘Cuppa with a Councillor’ is an informal opportunity for Councillors to engage with community members,” said Council’s Mayor Cr James Hayes,

“We received great feedback from Khancoban residents who meet regularly with Cr Ham and Cr Smit for a cuppa and a chat and so we’re delighted to be extending the opportunity to the Jingellic community,” Cr Hayes said.

“Locals can come down and have a chat about a project or an idea, and hear about what Council is doing and the thinking behind some of the decisions that we make.

“Sometimes people have no idea where to start—whether they have a planning issue, want to find out about a particular Council service, or even suggest something new that would benefit the community, and this is an easy informal option to help those conversations along”.

Jingellic community members are invited to the October ‘Cuppa with a Councillor’ meet-up on Wednesday 9 October at the Bridge Hotel from 5pm to 7pm.

“We’ll boil the kettle for anyone who wants to come along and join us for a cuppa and a chat about local topics and Council-related issues that matter to you,” Cr Hayes said.
